Ya got me! I’m a coffee addict. But I’m also addicted to the internet’s nuts-n-bolts. I’m addicted to all the additives and temptations in design and the building of websites as well. Oh yeah, Baby! CallieJo Cafe has lots of internet with her coffee every day!

♥ Yeah! Got my .ME today!
My applications for the .ME domain names I ordered have finally come through. Yeah!
The only exception is the last wait time until .ME’s are open to all. This is the message I have with my new domain names:
This domain was approved and locked by the .ME registry. This standard practice applies to all .ME domain registrations awarded during the Sunrise phase. The registry lock remains in effect through July 17, 2008 and could extend beyond that date at the discretion of the .ME registry.
The one I’m most happy about is my CallieJo.ME domain. Although, I haven’t exactly decided what I will be doing with it…lol.
Letme tell ya a story….Years ago I had CallieJo.com. I built a website not based on me but rather on free hosting. It cost me at the time about $79 for the domain name. When it came time to renew, I couldn’t access my account. I had forgotten my username and password (that were auto generated by the registrar) and the email address on file was no longer available. Therefore, I lost my domain name after having it for 2 years. I was so upset!
Over the years I’ve tried to contact the new domain owner but they always want to sell in the high digits. You got it! A domain squatter! And for what? Nothing with my domain name since it isn’t really worth anythang. At this time it’s filled with ads for webhosting. As if it were that popular of a free webhost to begin with….NOT! Really, it’s only worth $9.99 and I would have paid about $100 to get it back. Oh well…I’m quite happy with my CallieJoCafe.com and my new CallieJo.ME domain name. Just makes me angry that after all these years I still cannot get my domain name back.
Anyways, for all of yous who may have had similar situations or situations where you cannot register a .com domain name in the name you desire, NOW’s your chance! Get your own .ME domain name today!
If you are concerned about the future value of the .ME domain names, I wouldn’t be worried. Infact, I can see that .ME domain names will become more popular than the .NAME TLD (especially for bloggers) since .ME represents somethang more personal and is way cooler.
